Even warm weather lovers can't deny the pleasure that comes from throwing on a cozy chunky knit sweater or taking part in a jack-o'-lantern carving sesh. As summer turns to fall, it's time to welcome in the season that's meant for comfy nights in. In fact, one silver lining that has come out of staying home so much is the opportunity to really get the vibe right in your space.

This is especially helpful during fall, the time of year where being at home is actually fun, especially when it means decking your home out in the coziest, chicest seasonal decor. So whether you're the type to hang leaf garlands or put pumpkin-themed everything in every possible corner—or someone that just likes to introduce autumnal accent colors into your space after summer, you'll find 38 different ways to bring a little bit of the fall spirit into your home up ahead.

1. Add autumnal accents

You can certainly scatter pumpkins all over your home, but that's not the only way you can embrace the season. Blogger Ashley Petrone of Arrows and Bow upped the fall factor in her home by incorporating accessories in classic autumnal colors like orange, gray, and brown. She also topped the room off with some jewel-toned florals and cozy candles.

2. Make Halloweentown proud

The Halloween spirit is in full force in Michelle Hsu's home—just peep those candlesticks and leaf garland!. With no shortage of bats, pumpkins, and ghosts on her walls and shelves, she ensured that this space is perfectly suited for fall's first big holiday.

3. Soften your palette

Fall is all about simplicity and life slowing down, so if bright colors don't strike your fancy, choose something more subtle for your space. Follow in the footsteps of Romika Gunn. Quiet, muted colors and dried botanical accents instantly make things feel more autumnal rather than summery.

4. Infuse fall into your bathroom

Yes, even your bathroom can join in on the seasonal fun, as proven perfectly by Bailey Huffman. A few decorative pumpkins—plus, swapping in a striped hand towel in harvest colors—can instantly put a seasonal twist on your powder room. Switch your hand soap to a fall-inspired scent, and you'll be good to go.

5. (Pumpkin) spice up your mantel

You can wrap yourself up in fleece blankets and sip on salted caramel hot chocolate in your living room, but if your mantel is lacking fall coziness, your perfect scene will be missing that finishing touch. Bring it into the room by printing out this brilliant banner from Just Destiny at your local Walgreens, and hang it right over a group of pumpkins. If you're not quite ready to light a fireplace this time of year, you can also fit a chalkboard over the space and draw on some flames yourself. So fun!

6. Rethink basic bouquets

Another one from Just Destiny, add an impressive splash of autumnal cheer to any shelf or tabletop with this pumpkin idea with a twist. Follow the tutorial to see how to print out a stencil to stick onto your gourd, and then add a dreamy bouquet of fall flowers into the top, tied together with a gingham bow.

7. Create a pumpkin-filled fireplace

If you live in a climate where you still wear sandals during fall and can't light a crackling fire in the living room, make up for the lack of s'mores by filling your fireplace with a colorful array of gourds. It's an easy style move, but packs a lot of punch. Go with classic orange pumpkins and squashes for a traditional look, or pile in the heirloom varieties like Sarah Tucker did in this Pin-worthy image.

8. Cover your home in quotes

Words create your reality, so build a hygge space by weaving a story with your favorite fall elements like Lindsay Letters did here: Crunching leaves, cozy blankets, and sweet cider.

9. Work in dark shades

Black is timelessly edgy and chic, but there's something about it that makes an ideal color for fall. The second you mix it with natural textures, pumpkins, and dried twigs, you've got yourself a recipe for an autumnal wonderland. Case in point: Christina Allen's gorgeously decorated dining room, which relies on hits of black in the tableware and furniture—and cute black mini pumpkins!—to channel fall feels.

10. Dial up the cozy factor

Soft throw blankets, fuzzy textures, and a few fall-time botanicals will instantly transform a room. Renate Larsen Lorentzen mixed cozy touches in with neutral colors and wood finishes to really bring her loft into the seasonal spirit. If you're looking for a fresh take on a warm fall accent color, try mustard. It pairs well with everything from wood finishes to natural upholstery and even gray paint.

11. Decorate outdoors

While a wreath and doorstep pumpkins are inherently fall time must-haves, Jacqueline Rivera's porch is elevated even further, thanks to its super snazzy black-and-white plaid rug. Other than a buffalo check, it's hard to think of a better pattern to ring in the season of leaf peeping and pumpkin spice lattes.

12. Provide a warm welcome

It doesn't get much cuter or more fall-like than Jami Warren's front door area. Just create a vignette in a corner (or in your entire) front entry by filling it with items like pumpkins, blankets, pillows, and dried plants.

13. DIY a festive wreath

Spice up your doorway with fall goodness by creating this DIY wreath via Sutton Place. A little bit rustic, a little bit minimalist, and a little bit French country, it will be impossible not to smile every time you slip your key into the lock when you're met with such a cute wreath.

14. Sprinkle in cranberry-hued candles

Candles add instant atmosphere, and you can add a toasty and cozy element to the room by swapping out your pastels from the summer season for cranberry and oxblood hues. A look like the one created by Autumn Mabon would be beautiful and sultry for a Thanksgiving dinner table.

15. Set up a potting station

Even if you don't have a potting station at home, you can easily recreate this look over a mantle, credenza or counter (or on the floor in front of your fireplace should you have one). All you need is a "thankful" sign like this one from Etsy, and then you surround it with heirloom pumpkins strategically arranged at varying heights. Though Liz Marie's display shown here is all about faux white pumpkins, you can easily swap in whatever varieties, real or fake, that give you the fall feels.

16. Play with pumpkin centerpieces

If you're one to put a tablecloth over your kitchen table, try spreading a plaid one in dusty oranges and blues this time of year (though it sure does look like Ciao Newport Beach used a blanket here, doesn't it?). Pull out those muted shades further by creating a centerpiece using different colors and shapes of gourds, surrounded by candlesticks and leafy sprigs. With a dining setup like this, you'll be right in the mood to eat pumpkin pie all month long.

17. Shake up your bar cart

Upcycle a thrift store find or basic IKEA bar cart by spray painting it gold, and then give it a fall vibe by decorating it with plum-colored dahlias, eucalyptus and a canopy of cascading crabapple branches. Even if you skip the greens, you can still give your booze station some seasonal styling with a "Drink Up Buttercup" sign, which you can get the design file for free over at Swooned.

18. Pumpkin-ify your coffee corner

If you'd rather focus on your coffee station than cocktail corner, this pumpkin themed kitchen cart via Modern Glam is just your ticket. Turn the routine of making coffee in the morning into something totally cozy by setting up your spoons, sugar, (and possible pastries!) onto a wooden slab, sprinkle in some tiny pumpkins for good measure, and then hang a "Good morning, pumpkin" sign to cinch it together.

19. Build a cozy station

The best part about the weather getting nippier is that you can bury yourself in snuggly sweaters, wool socks, and—of course—thick blankets! Turn your living room into a snuggle area by carving out a "get cozy" station with all your favorite blankets, and then prop a handmade sign in front of the pile to hit the point home. You can either cover a slab of wood with chalkboard paint to create a sign like this one from Brightside Films, or use any other material that might fit your den's aesthetic better.

20. Hang a modern ring wreath

Bring some moody fall colors to your door with this floral wreath DIY from Making Joy & Pretty Things. Pick out a gold macrame hoop, gather some jewel-toned blooms (it looks like the ones used here are silk peonies), add some greens with lamb's ear and seeded eucalyptus, and you have yourself some minimalist and elegant door candy.

21. Deck out your front porch

For those with a front porch, it's fun to add some fall elements to your doorstep to really bring those harvest vibes into the neighborhood. Here, Yellow Cape Cod hung a leafy wreath at the door, decorated overflowing, potted mums with clusters of pumpkins that trail down the steps, and brought some tasteful cornstalks into the mix.

22. Stylize your woodpile

Crackling fires scream sweater weather, so bring that element into your room by throwing some logs into a rustic pail, and styling it over a plaid blanket. Taryn Whiteaker set the scene up in front of her fireplace, but this would look just as festive in a visible corner of your living room or entryway.

23. Go all out with table decor

Target always sells stylish and elegant Thanksgiving-themed signs this time of year, but rather than hanging them across a wall, try artfully displaying them on a table. This nook from Liz Marie Blog incorporates white pumpkins, stalks of cotton, copper Moscow Mule cups, and a cozy plaid cloth to bring in the best of fall's vibes, with a "Give Thanks" sign surrounding the whole vignette.

24. Add gourds to everything

Accent your bar cart with stacks of pumpkins and candlesticks to make it known that its maple bourbon season. And if you want to be more on the nose you can also hang up a "Gourd Ahead" sign over the setup (a simple felt message board like the one used here by In Honor of Design should do the trick, and can stay out all year—just change out what you want to say). It'll make you feel more seasonal every time you fix yourself a spiced cocktail.

25. Think outside the pumpkin

Gourds and pumpkins are everyone's fall go-tos, but you can create a little variety in your setup by getting creative with small details. In this mantel we styled for a Halloween decorating story, we mixed in non-seasonal related decor items like a rose gold wire candle holder and cinema light box. Don't be afraid to repurpose some of your evergreen decor to round out your holiday scenes.

26. Create a cozy nook

If ever there were a picture that encapsulated what we wish fall could feel like everyday, it would be this image from Lindsay Marcella. The small pillow nook she created would encourage anyone to read more in front of the fireplace, don't you think? Find a soft area rug to put down, and then scatter an array of differently textured and patterned pillows to make it feel welcoming and inviting. You'll be hard pressed not to make a cup of tea and dive into a story when this is waiting for you!

27. Put pumpkins in a flower box

Forget the autumn flowers in your window boxes this year, and instead swap them out for pumpkins and ornamental cabbage like Pretty Pink Tulips did here. It's such a different look and we're all for trying something new!

28. Decorate with blankets

If you have a thinner blanket that you don't use as often as your knit or fleece ones, give it a new job by draping it across a bench or table's edge to create a cozy scene (we just love this welcoming vignette from Home Stories A to Z). Keep it in place with a cluster of pumpkins and a basket of pinecones.

29. Refresh your vases

A super simple way to inject some fall into your home is to take clear apothecary canisters and vases and fill them with mini pumpkins, acorns and the like. Arrange them by color family like One Kings Lane did here, or shake things up however you like.

30. Place candles everywhere

If you want to bring an autumnal element to your kitchen table but aren't one to smooth down a table cloth, bring color into your room another way. Group together a cluster of squat pumpkins in varying shades and sizes, and then mix candle sticks in wooden holders throughout the grouping (we're quite fond of the birch tree-like candle holders used here from Ella Claire). To add in some greenery, snake Eucalyptus across the setup to give it a more earthy feel.

31. Make your blankets look chic

Stacking a few blankets in a corner and weighing them down with a wicker basket (full of more blankets, perhaps) is an easy way to bring in a mix of colors and prints into the room. Even if they aren't particularly fall-inspired (heck, sfgirlbybay showcases Mexican serapes, quilts and what looks like a down comforter, and it still looks particularly autumn-y), the scene will surely encourage you to snuggle up and get cozy!

32. …Or add them to a faux fireplace

If you don't have a working fireplace, here's an idea from Coco Kelley: Decorate the dead space by storing blankets in woven baskets of varying sizes. Don't forget the fur rug out front to really drive that coziness vibe home!

33. Spread candles on your mantel

For those who prefer a more elegant or minimalist aesthetic, you'll love this dream-like hearth spotted on Damask & Dentelle. All you need to turn your living room sufficiently moody is a dramatic arrangement of leafy sprigs topped with varying heights of antique brass candlesticks and white tapers. It almost looks like something out of Edgar Allan Poe's own house. Plus, this one can definitely stay up well into December (January?).

34. Swap out your glassware

Give your bar cart a nippy weather upgrade without the trouble of DIYing by decorating it with a vase of fall flowers, copper cups, and a splash of gingham. Executed by The Mama Notes, the small effort still provides plenty of style payoff.

35. Try out grape vine pumpkins

Swap out your dusty hued heirloom gourds for grapevine pumpkins instead. Choose varying sizes and shapes—mixing in squat pumpkins with long and lanky gourds—and then add some variety to the look by incorporating oversized pinecones and a cluster of drooping leaves over the mantel. To avoid everything looking too brown, you can take a gold thrift store frame and convert it into a chalkboard sign (we suspect that's what French Country Cottage did here), scribbling your favorite autumn quote across.

36. Make it a banner

Add some autumn-themed banners around your house to really drive home that its pompom-beanie weather at last. A burst of sage-green eucalyptus and a nubby pumpkin complete this scene from Rooms for Rent.

37. Elevate your entryway

Want to win autumn in your neighborhood? Let us introduce you to the most amazing entryway that has ever existed. With stacked pumpkins, gourds spilling over the stairs, and a beautiful leafy arbor, the whole setup—featured on Southern Living—makes you want to put on a plaid shirt and go apply picking immediately.

38. Fill your baskets with pumpkins

The pumpkin fun doesn't end just yet! If you would rather not buy real gourds, you can always stock up on stylish velvet or fabric alternatives like the type Craftberry Bush used here, and then stack them in a wicker basket with greens coming out from the side to give it a bit more color (and volume!). You can set this up in your hallway, living room, entryway—really, anywhere that needs more of an October-themed kick!
